Hello everyone!!!
My name is Viv🌸, and I am an aspiring Italian teacher. Literature has always been my safe haven, but three years ago, something changed. It was a particular time in my life, where everything seemed to have lost meaning. I could no longer find authentic people with whom to share real emotions.
At that moment, it was literature that saved me, once again, but this time in a totally unexpected way.
My encounter with Japanese literature was abrupt and completely fortuitous. You may be wondering in what way. My grandfather has a beautiful mahogany-colored bookcase, which always requires care and attention, just like a living person. One fine day, as I was absent-mindedly dusting the shelves, a book fell on my head. Here, not quite a romantic encounter, but certainly disruptive. The book in question was First Person Singular by Haruki Murakami.
That fall marked the beginning of my love affair with Japanese literature. From that moment, on an autumn day, I began to read and discover a world of stories, emotions and reflections that touched deep chords in my being.
Through this blog, I hope to get you passionate about Japan, its authors and its stories, without you even having to pack a suitcase or get a passport.
Let me take you on a journey through the pages of great Japanese authors, exploring with me worlds rich in meaning and beauty.
I hope you will find, as I did, something precious in this literature that can be both delicate and powerful.
