A golden dream in the heart of Kyoto
The Kinkaku-ji, or Golden Pavilion, is an undisputed icon of Japan, a place where history, art and spirituality come together in unique harmony. This Zen temple, covered entirely in pure gold leaves, is a breathtaking sight. Its image, reflected in the calm waters of the Kyōko-chi (Mirror Lake) pond, creates an almost surreal illusion, like a golden mirage suspended between heaven and earth.
Rising like the phoenix
In 1950, a young monk set fire to the pavilion, a tragic act that shocked the whole of Japan. The fire completely destroyed the building, but did not erase its memory. Faithfully rebuilt, Kinkaku-ji rose from the ashes, a symbol of rebirth and resilience. The episode inspired writer Yukio Mishima, who explores the psychological motivations of the young arsonist in his novel “The Golden Pavilion.”

Hidden gems in Kyoto
Known for its quiet and refined atmosphere, the Keibusha Ichijoji bookshop offers a select collection of literature and art, surrounded by the beauty of Kyoto. Why you should come and discover it :
Despite being a bookshop, what is surprising is the selection of products. It is divided into genres, from art and architecture to literature, of course, but it is full of carefully selected books that you won't find in other bookshops. Once caught, half a day will pass in the blink of an eye;
Unlike the busy shopping streets or temple districts, Kyoto is a quiet residential area as soon as you step out of the station, walking down the alleys, you can recognise the shop windows at a glance.
The bookshop consists of two spaces. One side is a pure bookshop and the other side is the shop's selection of styles. There are many small stationery and book-related accessories, which will easily lose your wallet if you are not careful. Sometimes there are also small personal exhibits. Even if you don't understand Japanese, it's nice to breathe in the atmosphere;
